Why Nutritional Psychology?

Chronic disease and medically unexplained illnesses (MUS) are dramatically increasing. Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death in the world!

The world is plagued by : Chronic illness, Medically Unexplained symptoms, Society of chronically sick people.

Western medicine's "pill for the ill" mentality has not proven effective.

Nutritional psychology is bridging the gap between psychology and the integrative medicine movement. Current Medical Model is based on care for the symptoms but not the person. The patient as a whole is lost.

We are more than a set of symptoms. We are a system of biochemical reactions - a reaction in one part of the body impact reactions throughout the body.

Nutritional Psychology provides another important mechanism for looking at a person as an integrated whole.

Nutritional Psychology examines the physiological mechanisms, influenced by our nutrient intake, that underlie mood and behavior.

Nutritional Psychology is the science of how nutrients affect mood and behavior.
